  • On April 1st, we invited members of our AAPI MIG community to participate in a conversation about the recent discriminatory and violent events directed toward the AAPI population. Thank you to everyone that participated in this very important conversation. We'd like to share with you ideas that came out of the conversation to ensure your voice is heard: How to speak up in our own ways: ■ Talk to the leadership of your own companies and ask for their statements on the recent e...vents if they haven’t made one. ■ Participate in local political events. Vote for your local Asian representatives! ■ Join community projects such as community gardens or civil engineering projects in the neighborhood to share our experiences and culture and build relationships with other cultures. ■ Speaking up on social media. How to diversify our dietetics: ■ New RDs tend to ask for less than what they are worth. As Asian RDs, sometimes we are less likely to speak up for ourselves. ■ Know what you’re worth through research, and ask for what you’re worth for your jobs. #aapi #asian #pacificislander #pasifika #nutrition #dietetics #rd #rdchat #ndtr #dieteticsstudent #dieteticintern #networking #stopaapihate #stopasianhate #diversifydietetics

Please read the HOD Member Interest Group (MIGs) Task Force Report (link in bio) and review the options for MIG representation in the House of the Delegates. . . . Please select your preferred option for MIG representation in the House of Delegates via the survey related to this request (link in bio as well) . The options are not presented in any particular order and are... not prioritized or rated in any way. This very important survey will take approximately five minutes of your time and should be completed by Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
